This Lecture Series opens up a perspective on early modern religious upheavals through the bottom-up lens of religious practices. It aims at a better understanding of religious formation, identity construction and drawing of confessional boundaries by asking how practices could be both religiously imprinted and readable in early modern societies. In this regard, the lecture series aims to sharpen our view of religious practices as a methodology of history of religion.
